Twitter has now us launched a 280-character era for everyone. In September, the micro-blogging site launched a test that increased the 140-character limit so that everyone in the world could more easily describe themselves with a single tweet.
Twitter said in its data that 9 percent of tweets exceeded the limit during the 140-character period, but only 1 percent reached the limit during the 280-character test period. With the new app, users interacted more, gained more followers, and spent more time on Twitter, according to Twitter, except to tweet more.
