"American Crime Story," about the 1997 murder of Donatella Versace's older brother Gianni Versace at her Miami home, begins On January 17.
Before the show started, the debate between Versace and the show's producers was growing every day.
First, a statement from the Versace family said, "Our family has neither allowed the production of this series nor contributed to the production process. It should be considered a series of fiction that does not reflect the facts".
Ryan Murphy, the show's producer, said the new series was based on Maureen Orth's book. Upon this statement, Versace stated that Maureen Orth's book was purely rumors and rumors, and that the author did not have any real information about Gianni Versace and his family. Versace added in its latest statement that it will no longer comment on any more series.
Meanwhile, Ryan Murphy said that on Golden Globes night, Donatella Versace sent flowers to Penelope Cruz, who plays her on the show.
