On the first day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Istanbul, Özlem Suer closed with the fashion show of her collection "Gare de l'Est" (East Station). Ozlem Suer fashion show, which took its inspiration from the different colors and motifs of different cities along the route of the Eastern Express in the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, was as old a fairytale land as ever. In the collection prepared with high handcrafted workmanship in each piece, we see that many different fabrics or details such as tafta, tulle and embroidery are combined. Although mostly black is used in colors, the collection is given a very romantic and vintage feel with the intermediate transitions of pastel tones. Ruffle details are also one of the details that we often see in the collection... The pieces using the skin-colored lining and the lace, embroidered transparent tulle fabric were classic Özlem Suer's signature pieces and again one of the most interesting pieces of the collection. In addition, Özlem Suer, who not only takes us back to the old times, also included details from the trends. After the ruffle trend, the corset trend also appears in the collection.
In the makeup prepared with Nars and Erkan Uluc team, the spirit of the Eastern Express was reflected using bright cheekbones, graphic eyeliner details and pink tones. Ribbon details and collection models, which are also used in hair, can be an ideal inspiration even for those looking for a difference in daily life.
Designer Cihan Nacar introduced the concept of "couture beachwear" to the world catwalks in the Autumn/Winter 2017-18 fashion show presented within the scope of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul. The Cihan Nacar Autumn-Winter collection, where glam and feminine lines combine with superior craftsmanship, was inspired by the cosmopolitan and vibrant culture of cities living 24/7. Interpreting the maximalist attitude of glamorous megacities where day and night are mixed together with a unique design approach, the designer aims to change the beachwear understanding of fashion lovers.
The 41-piece Autumn-Winter 2017/18 collection, all of which are the designer's signature, strikes a soft balance between sharp molds and intricate handcrafted ties and elegant, modern construction. In designs that express feminism and the idea of elegance without sacrificing its strength and attitude; geometric patterns were handled with the principle of architectural form. Influenced by the Bauhaus era and architect Takeshi Hirobe's design "M House", which philosophically accepts to be the highest point where all art meets, the designer reinterpreted the art of modernization with his clothes. Burçe Bekrek for the Autumn-Winter 2017-18 Collection dominated by ropes and geometric cuttings; "This collection is a collection where I celebrate the style, pieces, techniques and ideas of the women I love. I wanted to write a modern story about the deep complexity of simplicity. This collection is actually an homage to the confident and flirtatious spirit of urban romantic women. " says.
