Gucci ceases to use fur

Gucci has taken the first step towards becoming an environmentally friendly and animal rights-protecting brand. Brand executive Marco Bizzarri has announced that Gucci will no longer use real fur, starting with its spring 2018 collection.

Bizarri stated that they have prepared a 10-year plan for this purpose and said that "Sustainability will be one of the most important principles of our brand".

With this decision, furry Gucci slippers that have become an indispensable part of street fashion will also be removed from our lives.

PETA has been protesting Gucci for using kangaroo fur and seal skin on its shoes for the past 20 years. Gucci joined the trend started by Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney with its 'fur-free high fashion' decision.
