Contact with aliens: life can be on more than 30 planets

More than 30 intelligent species of creatures may exist in the Milky Way Galaxy, according to a calculation in the UK with a model called the Astrobiological Copernicus Boundary.

Details of the research, led by Christopher Conselice, professor of astrophysics at the University of Nottingham, were published in The Astrophysical Journal. The model, called the Astrobiological Copernicus Frontier, is based on the orbit of a star that takes 5 billion years to form intelligent life forms on Earth-like planets and is a source of heat, such as the Sun.

According to these calculations, there may be at least 36 species in the galaxy capable of sending radio signals into space.

The average distance between these civilizations is 17,000 light-years, so it is not possible to communicate with today's technologies, the study said. However, it is impossible to know whether these possible creatures will be able to communicate with Earth.
