9 ways to prevent negative thinking

An event that is so bad for one person and is described as never acceptable can be interpreted as normal and ordinary for another. “This feeling may not have ended there, it may have kept our minds busy for weeks and even become a part of our lives, " said Ezgi nine, an expert psychologist from the Anadolu Medical Center, who said that he can feel helpless in the face of events that occur from time to time. If we look for a way out to get rid of it, or want to feel good by ignoring these thoughts, we can often choose to postpone the problem. It is not the right choice to delay or surrender to the problem, that is, to disrupt our quality of life. When faced with negative thoughts, we must first believe that we can solve this problem and create a simple and general plan for solving the problem. Let's not forget that the first step to overcoming challenges is to believe in ourselves first,” he said.

"In other words, those abstract thoughts that we think in our minds have a negative impact on our health in concrete terms. So let's not underestimate the effects of negative thoughts. Let us dominate our fear, our anxiety, without allowing all negative thoughts, worries, fears, pessimism to take over us. When we feel helpless and at an impasse, we can try to look at the situation from the positive side and maintain our strength over the problem. Most importantly, to combat negative thoughts, we must know ourselves well in all our aspects,” he said.

Expert psychologist Ezgi Ninlu described 9 ways to prevent negative thinking:

Don't let negative thoughts get to you. Anxious and negative thoughts can make you feel helpless and hopeless. As you are excited or afraid, your heart rate speeds up, your face turns red, your hands sweat, these negative thoughts also have the power to negatively affect your health in a similar way. So don't let negative thoughts ruin your quality of life.

Identify and identify negative thoughts in your mind. Think about the source of these thoughts and why they make you feel bad. Why does it keep your mind occupied?

Instead of thinking about the negative outcome for a topic and planning in that direction, focus on today. Now think about what state you're in. The future may not always be what we planned, excessive anxiety will make you steal from your present.

Get to know yourself well. You must know what makes you feel bad. Look at how you've dealt with negativity before. This makes it easier for you to get to know yourself better and deal with negative thoughts.

Be flexible for the future. No matter how much you plan, a number of positive or negative events may occur that you do not take into account. So avoid very clear, sharp plans.

Don't blame yourself. Like any human being, you may have made mistakes in the past. This does not mean that mistakes will happen in the future, as they did in the past. Now you are more experienced than before, remember.

Just take advantage of regret, don't carry it in your mind. Regret helps us to understand our mistake and learn lessons about this issue, but excess only causes us to carry negative thoughts as an unnecessary burden in our lives.

Avoid using words such as’ I wish‘,’ I wonder‘,’ what if it happens or not‘,’ never".

Respect yourself for your decisions and avoid adapting other people's ideas to your own life. If you know yourself well enough about what's right for you, you know best.
